InfraGard is a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) program that began in the Cleveland Field Office in 1996. It was a local effort to gain support from the information technology industry and academia for the FBI’s investigative efforts in the cyber arena. The Puerto Rico chapter has been active for 1 year. Theme: | Public Corruption This presentation will analyze the causes and effects of public corruption, the statutes which are used to prosecute these cases, and lessons learned while investigating these cases. |
Speaker: | Christopher S. Starrett, Supervisor, Public Corruption Squad Mr. Starrett has a B.A. in Political Science, B.A. in Geography, and a M.A. in Geography. He entered on duty in 1999. He worked in the Italian Organized Crime Unit in Miami until 2004. He was Transferred to San Juan, and worked International Terrorism until 2007. He worked public corruption, including the Anibal Acevedo Vila and De Castro Font cases. He is Public Corruption Supervisor since August 2009. |
